Black Creek Trips

We are proud to offer a variety of trips down Black Creek. We have trip offerings that are certain to meet the needs of every paddler, no matter if you're a total beginner or a seasoned adventurer, we have something for you. Trip #1 - Camp Dantzler to Brooklyn

A total of 11 miles can be canoed in approximately 5 1/2 hours. The current is faster and more maneuvering is required on this section. Put in at Camp Dantzler Bridge and take out where we are located at the Brooklyn Bridge. A great float for one day.

Trip #2 - Big Creek to Brooklyn

A total of 5 miles can be floated in approximately 3 hours. Put in at Big Creek Boat Landing and take out at Brooklyn Bridge. This is a perfect float for beginners. The current is nice and swim holes are plentiful.

Trip #3 - Brooklyn to Moody's Landing

Approximately 6-7 miles can be canoed in roughly 3 1/2 hours. On this float you begin at the Brooklyn Bridge and float to a small primitive campground. Take out at the sandbar-river-left- just past Moody’s Landing sign.

Trip #4 - Brooklyn to Janice

A total of 17 miles can be canoed in approximately 8 1/2 hours and is a good overnight trip. The section from Moody’s Landing to Janice features wide sandbars and steep banks. Take out river-left at Janice Bridge.

Trip #5 - Brooklyn to Cypress Creek Landing

Begin at the Brooklyn Bridge. The trip continues on from Janice through the Black Creek Wilderness area to Cypress Creek Boat Landing where you take out river-left. The total 23 miles can be floated in 10 1/2 hours and is a good overnight trip.

Trip #6 - Brooklyn to Fairley Bridge

A total of 29 miles can be canoed in approximately 14 hours. We suggest you plan 3 days and 2 nights for this trip. Begin at the Brooklyn Bridge- the stretch from Moody’s Landing to Fairley Bridge has been designated a Wild & Scenic Stream because of it’s scenic qualities and remoteness. Take out river-right at the concrete ramp 3/4 mile past Fairley Bridge.

Important Notes

  • Do not stop or camp on posted land.
  • Do not litter – dispose of trash at dumpsters at landings or bring back with canoe.
  • TO AVOID EXTRA SHUTTLE FEES, make sure everyone in your group knows time & place of pick-up!!!
